About the Voluntary System of Accountability (VSA) College Portrait Project
The VSA was designed to improve public understanding of how public colleges and universities operate. The College Portrait provides consistent, comparable and transparent information on the characteristics of institutions. The information is intended for students, families, policy-makers, campus faculty and staff, the general public, and other higher education stakeholders.
The project is a collaborative effort among the American Association of State Colleges and Universities (AASCU), the National Association of State Universities and Land-Grant Colleges (NASULGC), and the public higher education community. Collectively AASCU and NASULGC represent over 500 public institutions that enroll 7.5 million students and award 70% of bachelor's degrees in U.S. each year.

One of the strengths of U.S. higher education is the broad range of diverse institutions, each with its own distinctive mission. We encourage you to check out college web sites and visit campuses to get a more complete picture of the opportunities available to you!
You can access our College Portrait for the followinng years.
